Rooted in the eruptive geology of the Azores, this performance-installation listens to the planet as a restless body. The work explores “inquietação” — unrest, unease — as a planetary, bodily, and relational condition: vibrational, tectonic, and imaginative. The shifting ground beneath us echoes a time when extraction has become the dominant relation, yet the body-planet resists control, announcing other forces and endings. Developed through field recordings, collaborative research, improvisation, and experimentation during residencies in São Miguel and Faial , the piece also carries the imprint of the traumatic 2025 wildfire that devastated Serra da Estrela, including Sá’s own village.

Here, the piano becomes not an instrument of sound production but of capture — a skin attuned to subterranean geological movements, a place where invisible forces converge. This is the first phase of a larger project that will continue after the Biennial across other residencies and stages, including Avista Vulcão (Capelinhos, Faial), Serralves (Porto), gnration (Braga), and Culturgest (Lisbon).
