Isabel Costa presents the show Manifestos for After the End of the World, a production with Os Possessos, co-produced by Walk&Talk Biennial.

Inspired by the curatorial work of Hans Ulrich Obrist, seven actors give voice to manifestos written after the year 2000, guiding the audience through different spaces of the Palácio da Conceição (one of the headquarters of the Azores Government).

Each text is shared in close proximity with a small group of spectators, subverting the traditional, declamatory style of manifesto readings. At its core lies the desire to speak attentively to the urgencies of today — delivering words of hope and denunciation, reflections on the world, and fragments of everyday life.

Maratona de Manifestos is a theater project that is part of a broader, long-term research project, Projeto Manifesta, by Isabel Costa. It stems from the intention to seek out, investigate, and translate political manifestos that are not well known to the Portuguese public, unfolding in presentations of various formats to make these texts visible.

After Dresden (Germany), Ravenna (Italy), and Havana (Cuba), it now arrives in Ponta Delgada. The project and the artist joined the European Fund for Emerging Artists in 2024. (la
