The future is a tedious place. From this starting point, the work imagines abundance as a hall of mirrors — levitating over commonplaces, moving without brakes, fragile and unstoppable. It reflects on our boredom with the future and its excesses, asking what remains when repair is no longer possible. And yet, within this tedium, BANDO insists on the possibility of abundance and its many forms.

BANDO is a new commission by 37.25 Núcleo de Artes Performativas, a collective founded by dancers from São Miguel that has become a key platform for contemporary dance in the Azores. Rooted in the island’s heritage and geography, their work develops through interdisciplinarity and collaborations across artistic fields. For this project, they invited choreographer Daniela Cruz to create a piece in dialogue with the group.
