Their works span sound, design, and visual art: folklore emerges as a living practice of community and memory; tourism is reframed as a new identity marker through visual codes legible mainly to Azoreans; and the diasporic experience in North America is evoked through reflections on absence and longing for a phantom home.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is inspired by the Fata Morgana phenomenon, an optical mirage that warps and redefines what is visible on the far horizon \u2014 a central metaphor for the installation and lighting of the pieces, proposing multiple and variable readings of the island\u2019s identity.
