Walk&Talk Biennial takes place from 25 September to 30 November 2025, with exhibitions, performances, gatherings, parties, and other events open to the participation of everyone.

The program is structured around three central moments:

  • Opening: 25–30 September
  • Symposium: 7–9 November
  • Closing: 28–30 November

Between these moments, there are various other events and regular activities taking place.

  • Exhibitions: The program is distributed across nine venues on São Miguel Island that can be visited throughout the entire Biennial period, within the opening hours of each space.
  • Public activities: There is also a continuous schedule of activities open to the public — such as concerts, talks, walks, performances, and presentations.
  • SINTONIZAR – Public Programs expands on this dynamic with thematic excursions, guided visits, workshops, and community projects, developed in collaboration with artists, collectives, and local specialists.
PRACTICAL INFO
Where is the Biennial’s main location?
Casa da Bienal, located in Praça do Município, Ponta Delgada, is the welcome and meeting point for Walk&Talk. It is open throughout its whole period of the Biennial and works as a starting point for the visitor, with information about the program, materials for consultation, and areas for lounging and resting.
Do I need tickets?
Most exhibitions, openings, and Casa da Bienal activities are free. Workshops and guided tours require free registration through the forms that can be found in each of the events in the online program. Excursions and some performances have limited capacity and require a paid ticket.
How is the weather and what should I bring?
It is often said that the island has all four seasons in a single day, with sun, rain, fog, and wind. It is important to bring comfortable shoes, waterproof clothing/an umbrella, but also a swimsuit and towel. Layers are essential! For real-time updates, SpotAzores shows live cameras across the island.
How do I get around?
The Biennial is spread across different venues and landscapes. Planning your routes in advance allows you to enjoy the island as part of the experience. Buses connect the main locations, but run irregularly (Bus Network Timetables). Walking and car sharing are great ways to experience the island at a slower pace, while renting a car gives you more freedom (Wayzor Rent-a-car, ANC Rent a Car).
What languages are spoken at the Biennial?
Most activities take place in Portuguese and English. The team at Casa da Bienal and many of the mediators are bilingual.
Are the activities accessible?
We want to make as many events as possible accessible. Some venues are historic buildings with architectural restrictions. For detailed accessibility information, check the online program or ask at Casa da Bienal.
Is the Biennial for families?
Yes! Many exhibitions, public installations, and activities are suitable for children, and SINTONIZAR – Public Programs includes workshops and tours designed for schools and families.
