Mae-Ling Lokko

Mae-ling Lokko is an architectural scientist, designer, and educator working with agrowaste and renewable biobased materials. She explores themes of generative justice by developing new models of distributed production and collaboration. In her artistic and design practice, she deconstructs historical narratives and extraction practices by creating new material vocabularies and prototyping participatory production models. An Assistant Professor at Yale University’s School of Architecture, she researches ecological design and the development of renewable materials. As founder of Willow Technologies, she upcycles agrowaste into affordable building materials and water treatment applications.
